Anchorage Hotel?

We need a $250-$300 room in Anchorage for two nights. I'm looking at Homewood Suites, SpringHill Suites, Hampton Inn, and so on, and I can't figure out if one of them is a better option than the others. Any advice?

6 of 2/half dozen of the other (I assume you are looking near the airport but there are two Spring Hill Suites one nearer the airport/downtown and one near the university)

Are you arriving on one of those late night flights into ANC?
We managed to get on the 6AM PT flight out of SEA arriving about 9:30AM AKDT. We will spend about 6 hours wandering around Anchorage before heading out to the Microtel in Eagle River. We are more interested in seeing the natural beauty of Alaska than too much of the city.
I did find a great site yesterday that I signed up with:
ALASKA.ORG I got an email with an 80 page listing with times and miles of things to see.
I hope to earn enough Wyndham Rewards points to get a free night somewhere in the lower 48 in the fall.

You'll be pretty stranded at any of the mid-town or university-area places unless you're renting a car (which I'd recommend, BTW.) Otherwise I'd bite the bullet and stay downtown. For a downtown-area budget place have a look at the Comfort Inn on Ship Creek. https://www.choicehotels.com/alaska/...n-hotels/ak006

They also have a free shuttle service to the airport.

Yes, we will have a car.
I sprang for Embassy Suites, using points.
Thanks everybody.
