Anchorage-Denali-Fairbanks

We fly into Anchorage then have 4 days/4 nights to spend. We were going to take the train up to Denali and spend it all there but now we're wondering if we should split it and spend time in Fairbanks? Is there more wildlife or more to do in Fairbanks?

I hesitate to go that far north as the trip back by bus or train is so long as we need to get back for a departing cruise in Whittier.

Thanks!
