How is the ANC airport in light of the security issues of the past week? How far ahead of the flight time should we arrive?

The recommended time to arrive is at least 2 hours early.

Agree, at least two hours or more if you have to get a gas (long lines) and return your car

AT least 2 hours with has always been a given even with less security issues. It can be a very slow congested airport.

Thanks for the help! I have changed our reservation to a hotel closer and with a shuttle, so we have the option of returning the rental car the night before departure.

Good idea. Reconfirm time your hotel shuttle is scheduled to depart for the airport
