amtrak from NY to Toronto
 

taking the Maple route from NY to Toronto in september, love to here from anyone who has taken this route,

My office mate has done his trip a few times. He hates flying and likes trains. If you can elaborate on what you would like to know I can ask him tomorrow. Here is what I have heard him say. The scenery along the Hudson River is great. The border crossing at Niagara Falls is slow. The train stops and officials go from passenger to passenger to do their duties and when they are finished the train proceeds.

The train will have the most disgusting bathrooms you can ever imagine. Plan accordingly.

It's a VERY long ride - unless you really just like sitting on trains. Any reason not to fly?

This is a 12-hour trip. The part along the Hudson is very scenic, but is only the first 2.5 hours of the trip. I can't vouch for the scenery along the rest of the route.
