Amish Tour with Connective Tours

Hi! Has anyone taken the Amish Tour offered by Connective Tours? The tour company, collects travelers from Philly hotels, takes them to the Amtrak station, collects guest from the Lancaster train station and provides a tour of the Amish country. Any insights would be appreciated.

Sorry that you haven't gotten any answers. Would it be possible to find who handles the Lancaster end of the tour so that I could offer an opionion on them? Taking the train is a very good idea - it's very scenic and avoids much of the commercialism of the outlets, etc.

Hi Cheapbutnice2,
Thanks for your message. The tour is sponsored by Philadelphia Trolley Works and Carriage Company. A former motorcoach tourguide mentioned that he did not see the Connective Tour Company listed with the American Bus Association. He suggested that my mom and I take Amtrak from Philly to Lancaster then take a taxi to the Amish Experience in Bird-in-Hand and perhaps pick up a tour there. This seems like a good option as the Connective Tour is over $100 a person. That seems a bit steep to me. Any insights that you could offer would be wonderful.

Dear Cheapbutnice2,
I've done some additional internet research. The Connective Tours package sounds identical to Amish Tours aka Amish Country Tours, Inc. aka Dutchland Tours, Inc. It seems legitimate. . .

You are right about Dutchland. For comparative purposes, consider calling Dutchland, Willow Valley Resort & Bird-In-Hand Inn for suggestions of how to connect with local tours. At these 2 motels, you would not need a car.Amtrak is just under $30RT. The train station is convenient but not very close to BIH or Intercourse.Just not a big fan of cabs in a place like Lancaster.
