American, United Issue Policies for Winter Storm

American, United Issue Policies for Winter Storm
Published on: November 30, 2006 Email Article
With a heavy winter storm due to hit parts of the South and Midwest, American and United are allowing their passengers ticketed for travel in four states Nov. 29-Dec.1 to change their flights to travel through Dec. 1 with no change fees due to an approaching winter storm. The storm policy applies to customers traveling to, from or through cities in Texas, Oklahoma, Illinois and Missouri. One ticket change is allowed. Passengers should call American's reservation office at 800-433-7300 to change their travel. Customers may also check the status of their flight at www.aa.com. United said that only customers with already canceled flights are eligible for a full refund, and all changes must be made no later than Dec. 12. Customers may make these changes by calling United reservations at 800-UNITED, and should visit www.united.com for flight status information.

And yet my husband refuses to try to come home today because he thinks taking his scheduled flight out of O'Hare tomorrow will be no problem.

Ah! The joys of being stuck at O'Hare with thousands of other stranded travelers!

Wish your husband good luck for those of us who aren't stuck there with him...

MerryTravel...there's going to be a lot of funny things on your menu if he gets home without problems.

I put it into another thread, but Midway and O'Hare were already packed with cots yesterday/last night, and the snow hadn't even started yet. We had tons of rain, and nothing is where it is supposed to be, even before the start of the snow. Not just delays, cancelations galore last night already.

Whew! He just landed! They somehow got him on a flight at 6 this morning and they got out. He said there was two inches of ice on the wings before de-icing and that they had turbulance the entire flight, but he's here!
