I answered on the Euro forum originally but was trying to think of some for the areas you still need.

Africa still has quite a few more. I could think of the 13 "underground" churches carved from solid stone at Lalibela, Ethiopia - http://www.ethiopiatravel.com/Lalibela_eng.htm

The Kush pyramids in the Sudan. I you look at the pyramid on the US dollar bill, you can see that it's taller and thinner than pics of those in Egypt. The believe that the artist was drawing the Nubian pyramids at Kush, almost all of which are missing their cap stones.

The Grand Mud Mosque at Djenne, Mali. Partially rebuilt after the rains every year since 800AD. http://www.sacredsites.com/africa/djenne.html

Magnus Leptis, roman ruins in Libya

I'm coming up with nothing for S. America except Machu Picchu and the other Inca ruins.

and here's Africa

Would be interested in the 50 buildings you've already picked.

Here is one the Japanese claim to the oldest building, with drawing:

And the other Japanese claim, is underwater! (Wouldn't that be fun to replicate?) This one seems to be contested...

And here are photos of Hagar Qim, in Malta:

Quite an ambitious project! Best wishes to you and your husband, and keep us posted on your progress.
