ALLEGIANT AIR: FLL ALERT!

Just wanted to give anyone a heads up flying out of the FORT LAUDERDALE AIRPORT on Allegiant Air.

I placed the long distance call to Allegiant Air (not toll free) to ask them where their
terminal was in this airport. They said Terminal 2. The FLL airport website states, Terminal 1. I asked them which was correct and they said they didn't know, to "just
go by the airport's website".

I understand this airline is "no frills", but please. these agents should know where their
airline is at each terminal.

I am still waiting to find out for sure WHERE it is located. I have contacted
the airport directly; since Allegiant is no help.

Also, watch out for agents that place you on hold and never come back on the
line prompting you to have to hang up and place another long distance call.

Just my experience. Wanted to share.

First time I see an airline without 800 phone number! But you can chat with a live person, the info is on this page, also e-mail reservation center - I hope their e-mail is free :)

I like their FAQs. Question: Where do I check-in at the airport? Answer: Look for our ticket counter.

LOL, sounds like a primo operation they got there!

The seats are not assigned unless you pay $11? Nice :)

Don't just diss Allegiant, although they sound pretty weak. You have to pay $14 on United for a seat assignment! (At least on the SF to LAX route). God Almighty, if I had to stoop to that to run an airline efficiently, I would think I had failed. But fear not...the chairman will get his bonus, even if he has to sell you a seat assignment.

I must've been living in a bubble! This year we flew SouthWest and Delta, no charge for seat assignment on Delta, only domestic luggage, and Southwest offered pre-check-in for $10 just now.

The airlines are down, what? 14% this quarter in passenger loads? They wonder why. It ain't just the economy, bozos.

I haven't flown Allegiant since 2009. In terms of their service onboard, I don't need much for a 2 hour flight, so no complaints there.

HOWEVER, I just bought a ticket (good price) for another flight and they had one price as the total price, then when you had to choose seats, they hit you with another cost. I listen to Peter Greenberg and if I am not mistaken, isn't there a law now (perhaps new or in the works) that the airlines MUST be clear about these "hidden fees" or prices? Suddenly flying cheaper airlines is not as "cheap" as it seems. Still, the price was lower and I guess in this case, "beggers can't be choosy". Thanks all!
