allegiant air?

A couple queries here about this air carrier are out of date. Has anybody flown with them lately? Opinions?

Have flown them twice in the last year between Orlando (Sanford), FL and Lansing, MI. Flights were fine each time: departed and arrived on time, flight crew was friendly and helpful.

They are a no-frills airline, but price was my concern each time, so they worked great for me.

My only complaint-the seats had very little padding. If I fly them again (a pretty good chance), I'll bring some type of cushion to sit on!

We flew them last year to Vegas and were impressed. Esp with the comfortable seating (go figure!) and the non-claustrophobic cabin. Go for it!

I've flown them twice to Orland/Sanford - the most recent trip two weeks ago. They are fine but no frills - not even a cup of water.

Check in EARLY - they try to close the check in about 30 minutes before flight time because at our airport the person that checks you in then goes around and boards you on the plane. My one complaint is that check-in is slow locally because it appears to be a lot of manual paperwork with a very small staff. Go early and be prepared to wait in line if you are flying from a small airport. Coming back from Orlando/Sanford check-in was much faster.

Do note that the advertised price is much lower than what you will actually pay once you add on the taxes PLUS a fee for seat reservation and a fee to check each piece of baggage. Still a great deal for small town fliers though.

They fly from our local airport to Orlando twice a week. My concern would be that if you miss their scheduled flight or if it's canceled for some reason, you may not make your destination. How would that work? Would you be accommodated on another airline (unless missing the flight is your fault, of course).
