Would someone kindly share their experience with Allegiant Air
if they have flown them this year or last late year please?

I am trying to find the website that lists the cancellation percentages,
but Allegiant is not listed in the list of airlines for the TSB.

I know it is no frill, but for now am more concerned with cancellation
and delays?

Florida to Huntington would be the trip for my family.
and vice versa on the way back. Thanks in advance.

My son looked into Allegiant for a St. Pete FL - Greeneville SC trip. He said that will all the added fees, it wasn't all that much of a savings - so he took another airline with better schedules.

Bellhouse, my appreciation for your response. I haven't gone through the process to the point where I see a total, but I HAVE been looking at other airlines and there is another one that has a nonstop flight and although larger, possibly more reliable. Can't afford to take a chance on a cancelltion, this time around. Thanks again!

We fly Allegiant all of the time. We have been delayed (generally by the weather) but never cancelled. The add on fees are a pain but if you don't check luggage or pick your seat and buy you tickets at the airport in advance, they are cheep. I like flying into St Pete, the airport is small and you are one your way very quickly.

Allegiant Air is getting popular for vacation destinations from smaller cities. For instance, our trip from Springfield, MO, to Orlando-Sanford, FL, to visit our daughter. You can certainly get bargains but it is true there are a few extras packed on. We also did a package deal with rental car. About cancellation policies I can't advise. One humorous note...for entertainment they have a raffle!

My sister and her children fly Allegiant Air a lot. The prices seem to vary and they have some really cheap specials. Their destinations are limited but some of the fares are great. They have not had a problem.

I am not understanding...if you DON'T pick/pay for a seat, they assign you a FREE one? or do they assign you one for a HIGHER price than you would have gotten online? Anyone understand how it works please? Thanks in advance.

Every airline will give you "some" seat, but some airlines require you to pay in advance to have a specific seat assignment before you arrive at the airport. Otherwise, you get whatever's left and may have no choice where on the airplane you sit.

Some airlines also charge you more money to sit in CERTAIN seats.

With some discount carriers, including Allegiant, you pay more to have a seat assignment in advance. You are not paying extra to "get" a seat at check-in.

Where do you want to fly? From where? Even if you pay to have a specific seat and pay the baggage fee, you are likely to pay less than any other carrier with the possible exception of Southwest. With Allegiant, there are low fares on certain flights but the more popular dates have a higher fare.
Allegiant does not fly to my closest airport (RDM). Now I would have to go to Eugene or Medford.
Recently, Allegiant has started flying to Hawaii.

Thank you Doug and Tom. I found that whatever seat I ran the mouse over, it said anywhere from $12 to $19.

Anyway, I now have my tix and look forward to my flight.
