Alexandria Travelodge

Does anybody know anything about the Travelodge at 700 North Washington Street?
It's really inexpensive - about $40 a night less than the next cheapest place in Alexandria's Old Town. Plus, they have free parking.
So, is it tolerable? Mostly, we need a clean and safe room -nothing special.

All that I know is that it is very close to King Street which has the shopping and historic stuff, and that not far away is a Giant Supermarket, can't tell you about the cleanliness of it.

It's not an ideal neighborhood, but you should be fine.

There's a reason the rooms are so cheap. The place is old and a dump. I wouldn't stay there. It's seven city blocks to King Street where the shops/restaurants are clustered. You can walk to the Metro but it takes you through a large public housing complex.

The Travelodge has one review listed on Tripadvisor.com, and its not a good one.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn Landmark in Alexandria this Spring, and found it a great bargain at $83.00/night (free parking and breakfast).
