Alcatraz tour
 

There seem to be a few tour operators that offer the Alcatraz evening tour. Can anyone recommend one...we will be in the area the week of September 14. As always, many thanks.

This is the place that the National Park Service contracts with to offer tours. You can get the tickets on line, which is probably a good idea, since they may sell out. Any other website that offers tours will just be reselling tickets from Alcatraz Tours at a higher price.

As Maryann has stated there is only one company that contracts with the Park Service, so there is only one tour operator. Don't know who these other tour operators could be.

Thank you both. I booked using that link for the evening tour. You fodorites are a Godsend.

We did the night tour in March. It was excellent.

The audio tour makes you feel like you're right there among the inmates--creepy!

I think the audio tour is a must. Its fantastic.

And the boat ride back overlooking that fabulous city? Wonderful.
