Alcatraz Picnic

Are there any nice spots to have a picnic on Alcatraz?

No particular spot stands out in my mind, but beyond finding a spot, you may have another problem: weather.

It can get windy, cool and damp on the island -- not exactly perfect picnic weather.

There are no flat nice areas I recall, either. Much of it is steep, rocky and not really picnic locations. Don't think an old cellblock was what you had in mind.

No. There are lots of bird droppings everywhere and the wind can blow dust around. Visit Alcatraz but if you want to picnic, head to Golden Gate Park instead.

I don't have any idea about Alcatraz but Angel Island is nice and after you can walk or bike around the island and see the historical sights.

You may want to check out Angel Island.

Another vote for Angel Island for a picnic.

When are you going? Even IF there was a place for a picnic (which I can't visualize), if you are going in the summer it will most likely be much too cold to eat outside.

Angel Island is terrific - great picnic spots around the whole island, plus some sheltered areas that would be much warmer.
