Albuquerque Restaurants
 

I'd really appreciate any recommendations for dinner and/or lunch spots in Albuquerque. Price isnt a big issue, but we plan to leave our dressy clothes at home for this trip so are looking for fairly casual atmosphere. I'm not particularly daring about what I'll eat, but my husband is looking for interesting local cuisine. Thanks!!

It's been several years, but I remember eating at a great Mexican fare restaurant--Sadie's. You'll have to look up the location when you arrive, but the food was terrific, and hot, as it sometimes can be. Price was typical, restaurant was charming, but not fancy.

I was there last October. I had a good diner at El Pinto; I believe it's New Mexican and/or Southwestern cuisine. Also, for a fun breakfast, try the 66 Diner on Route 66 in downtown Alb. Both are casual and moderately priced.

Is that old and famous diner/drive-in called the Owl still there? I remember stopping for a great lunch and a super malt, just off the interstate passing through.<BR><BR>And I had the greatest margarita in the world at the tram station going up the mountain.

Elston,<BR><BR>For New Mexican, I recommend Los Cuates, Sadie's, El Pinto (nice atmosphere),Barelas Coffee House (if you are REAL daring and want the REAL thing).<BR>Other great places: Upscale: Seasons, Jennifer James, La Cafe Miche(French), la Crepe Michele (French, in Old Town).<BR>Route 66 Diner is fun for a burger and shake.<BR>Nothing in Albuq. is dressy, so no need to worry. Thanks guys for all the inside info! We've been making a point of trying at least one restaurant suggested by a Fodorite whenever we travel for the past couple of years and haven't been disappointed yet. Will let you know how we make out and fill you in on any &quot;discoveries&quot; we make in the area!

I was there last September and really enjoyed High Noon in the Old Town. If you like to try different types of beer, try the Blue Corn Brewery.
