Vanessies is a hopping place. We stayed at the Water Street Inn, which is right beside Vanessies, and it was great. Within walking distance of the Plaza and many other resturants. Rooms about $150/nt during February but they have an internet special, 2 nights, 3rd 1/2 price.

Why not spend a couple of days in Alb and a couple in SF. They're only an hour apart. If in Alb go to Brewsters downtown for nightlife. It is a really fun place. It is near the university.

You might want to try El Farol for nightlife. They ususally have a band but charge a cover. It's on Canyon Road.
For hotels, try Inn on the Alameda. It's just off the Plaza, has a cocktail hour and breakfast in the morning. |
In addition to all your nightlife, you should really make sure you get to Ten Thousand Waves spa. In fact, it's even more enchanting at night than during the day. www.tenthousandwaves.com.

Santa Fe is beautiful.

I loved Albuquerque until I went to Santa Fe, and loved that even more! If you're into spas, check out Ten Thousand Waves. Not too far outside of Santa Fe and really gorgeous. Have fun!

I don't equate nightlife w/either locale but would suggest Taos.

Check these websites for what's happening in Albuquerque and Santa Fe in June - www.alibi.com and www.sfreporter.com

Check out the El Rey Inn for lodging---http://www.elreyinnsantafe.com/--each room individually decorated, a nice pool and hot tub and though it's on Cerrillos Road, it is a lovely oasis with flower gardens and fountains. You will need to drive to the Plaza but it's not far.
