Albuquerque, NM- must see sites

I'm planning a trip to New Mexico (Albuquerque) in April and I would like to know of some must see sites... Thanks....

I'd recommend a drive over to the Sandia Peak Tram. Great views of the area and some enjoyable hiking trails.

i found albu. to be a pretty dirty city with much traffic. there is a nice natural science museum, otherwise, pollution on many days. i would visit santa fe, a nice drive, and acoma sky village near grants, stunning. also interesting pueblo villages between albq. and santa fe. petroglyph, a big pile of rocks, now surrounded by ticky-tack track houses. bizarre!

The Gathering of Nations Indian Powwow is on April 24,25 & 26. It's normally held at the University of New Mexico in the Arena. They also have an excellent Indian market. Go to www.gatheringofnations.com for more information. It's really fantastic if you're into Indian culture. We visited in April,2001 & enjoyed the powwow, also the other previously mentioned attractions.

I was in Albuquerque in September and loved the area. We never went downtown and didn't care to. There were so many things to do outside of the city and the surrounding areas. If you like being outside, this is the place. Here is what I did and enjoyed:

Jemez Trail (all or part, but a must-do)
Petroglyph Monument (must-do)
Old Town Albuquerque (eat @ High Noon)

If you don't mind driving:
Billy the Kid grave (2-2.5 hr. drive)
Roswell (3-3.5 hr. drive)

We were going to to the Tram at Sandia Peak but it was crowded, decided not too. You can see across part of the city by standing on top of the Petroglyphs.

HAVE FUN !!
