Albuquerque, NM

We are looking to spend Memorial Day Week-end and would like recommendations as to hotels that would not be real expensive. We will be going to petroglyph national partk and probably rio grand nature center. Any ideas of what not to miss would be appreciated. Probably go to old town as well. Thanks

You can get great rates on Priceline.
Check www.biddingfortravel.com for more info before bidding on Priceline.

Take the tram up Sandia Peak at sunset and get dinner reservations at the top. The sunset views are great. If you have time, schedule a hot air balloon ride for the experience of your life. Enjoy

Might want to check out the National Atomic Museum at www.atomicmuseum.com

Thanks you for your posts. I did see that this week-end there will be a wine festival going on as well. Is there an area we should avoid walking at night or hotel which would not be in a good area? Thanks for your help

I'm sure you must have accomodations, but if you don't I would strongly suggest The Botttger Mansion. It is right at the top of the street into Old Town(easy walk) and the Atomic Musuem. The owners, Gary and Carole are probably the nicest people you will ever meet! We were there over Christmas and they treated us like family(actually probably even better than you would treat family),The reates were quite reasonable, the breakfast superb and the atmosphere outstanding. Let us know if you stay there. Enjoy!

Just came back from Albuquerque. The Pueblo Indian Museum was quite interesting, near Old Town.

Oh, we also did the tram and that's quite a ride - unbelieveable scenery. Dinner at the top was excellent

I think Price Line is superfluous for a place like Albuquerque. There are a range of moderate priced chain motel/hotels. If you really want a bargain in Albuquerque, look into the Monterey Non- Smokers Motel. It is on Central walking distance to Old Town. One of the old Rte. 66 type hotels, run by an Eastern European couple who fuss over everything to be sure its right. The decor is a bit over the top, but rooms are huge and everything is spotlessly clean and the place is unbelieveably cheap.
I agree with the suggestion to see the Pueblo Museum and the Atomic Museum.
