Albuquerque and Santa Fe in Mid-April?
Is April a good time to visit these cities?

What kind of things do you want to see/do?? A lot depends on the answer to this question.
It is our windy season and that can means some really dusty days. It can also means some beautiful sunny days and with mild daytime temps. It won't be very busy, so that will be good. Prices should be good, good Priceline possibilities. Tell me what you hope to accomplish and I can give you a better answer :) |
HTTY.
Debit is the expert on NM. We've visited often in April and it is a fantastic time to be there, although we did hit wind a day or two. |
Thanks for the encouragement.
We will do the usual sightseeing, and no outdoor activities other than walking (when the wind subsides). We have sixteen days with this anticipated routing: Phoenix, Tucson, SE Arizona, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Canyon de Chelly, Grand Canyon, Sedona, Phoenix. We have been to all these places at least twice, except Canyon de Chelly which we have visited only once previously. HTTY |
Do go over to Bandelier whiile you are near Santa Fe. In addition to the main part of the park, take a hike in the part called Tsankawi which is about 5 miles closer to Santa Fe. I have some pictures of it at www.flickr.com/photos/emalloy2009/sets in the 2008 set I think, if you want a look.

Come on over, you will have a blast. Just be prepared for cool/cold nights and days that start cool and warm up [layers] and the possible wind/dust/sand days.
