Albany NY Restaurant Ideas & Crossgates Mall
I will be in Albany NY meeting a friend to attend the Billy Joel/Elton John concert on Saturday night. We will be in town on Saturday morning and since there does not look like much to do we thought we would go shopping. My friend wants to hit an H&M store which is in the Crossgates Mall. We are staying at the Crown Plaza Hotel. Is this a good mall to go to??? How far from the hotel is it????
We would like to have a nice dinner before the concert any ideas???? We like Seafood, american cuisine and great desserts... We do not have a car but are willing to cab it for the right meal...
Thanks to anyone in advance....

Jack's Oyster House is on State Street about 1 block from your hotel and the [softdrinkname] Arena where your concert is. Another very nice place is the Schrimshaw, located in the Desmond (hotel). Crossgates Mall is nothing special. Visit our Capitol and related government complex/museum while you're in town, and also the Albany Institute of Art up the hill from your hotel.

Thanks everyone for your help.... Saw Billy Joel and Elton John in Albany on Sat night (9th row center stage) at the pepsi arena. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel PERFECT LOCATION for the concert. They also offer a free shuttle so they were able to pick up my friend at the airport and pick me up at the Amtrak station. Since they were not very busy "Rodney" (really great guy) drove us to the Crossgate Mall and made us reservations at Jack's Oyster House within walking distance to the hotel.. We did cab it back from the mall the cost was $15 but since it was raining all day they drove us to the restaurant and even the pepsi arena for the concert.... They were even going to pick us up after the concert but I could not see how they could do that. From what I saw it seems everyone came out the main entrance so you had over 18,000 people walking out to the main street area... Hey we walked it and it was fine....
