Thinking we should grab lunch before hand at Pier 34? Or do we concentrate on dinner afterwards? We are doing the 2 hour tour.

Do you have your tickets already? There isn't any place on FW that I would recommend for meals except Scomas. Be aware,it is pricey.

I think it's Pier 39.

Maybe get something at Ghiradelli(like a shake or something for a snack) or In and Out Burger(if you've never been there). Then concentrate on dinner afterwards.

Maybe some chowder or dungeness crab from a sidewalk stand at fisherman's wharf. Hey your there, I always do the touristy thing. It may or may not be actual homemade chowder. I'm just not sure.

I would have a late breakfast and a nice dinner.

I have a weakness for the chowder in a bread bowl at Fisherman's Wharf. It isn't gourmet, but it tastes better with a fresh sea breeze! Then have a nice dinner after Alcatraz.

Be careful with pier numbers. The odd are in area of the city, the even in another. Are you sure it's 34? Before they were from 39 or 41, maybe the tours moved?

The Alcatraz boat leaves from Pier 33. Pier One is the Ferry Building -- all the odd-numbered piers are to the north and all the even-numbered piers are to the south.
