Alaska tour books
Thinking it's time to start researching Alaska. I know there is much to digest right here and will do so shortly. But what is the favorite guide book to get me started? Thank you one and all.

Start with a copy of Milepost and then whatever your normal favorite is (Fodors, Lonely Planet, etc.).

When ya going sistah?
Don't forget Jetset is a native. You could throw in a GTG while there. Don't buy your Milepost until March of the year you are going (that's when the new ones come out.) Go to the library and check out an old one and any other Alaska books they have. That'll be a good start. Gardyloo, BudgetQueen, Repete, etc, are true travel experts on Alaska so reading their threads will give you some good info to begin learning about traveling to Alaska. I have posted on our trip experiences to Alaska and will be glad to help however I can. |
Sistah~ just what are you most interested in doing while here? Traveling solo or with a posse? Also take a look at Alaska magazine for good articles and photography.. Are you a cruiser, fly to Anchorage and rent a car, or the motorhome sort? Which months are you considering? Oh, and where are you starting from? I would love to organize a gtg.. just give me notice and time to buy cement mix for our handprints! J. |
sistah!
Does this mean we won't be having that GTG in Hanalei next summer? B-) -Bill |
Thanks everyone for your replies. I will study up on areas etc, and come back with definative questions. Just refreshing studying new places!
