What are the best places to eat dinner?
Fairbanks Anchorage Denali Kenai Peninsula Ketchikan Juneau |
I can't say these are "the best" but in Ketchikan, we liked Steamers by the docks (ate there twice) and Annabelle's on Front Street and, in Anchorage, The Glacier Brewhouse.

What price range??
|
Fairbanks- Turtle Club
Anchorage- Glacier Brewhouse Seward- Rays Will you have a car and what is your Kenai Peninsula reference??? You are covering over 300 miles. |
Agree with Annabels in Ketchikan. The Hangar or Twisted Fish in Juneau.

Fairbanks : Pump House
Kenai Peninsula: Homer: Captain Patties Seward: Resurrection Roadhouse Chinooks Waterfront Rays |
How pricey is the Glacier Brewhouse in Anchorage? We were thinking about going there since so many people recommend it but don't want anyplace that's too stuffy or ultra-expensive. Was wondering the same thing about Ray's in Seward.

The prices at Simon and Seafort's in Anchorage aren't too different, plus the view is pretty good. Nothing in Alaska is ever stuffy; prices tend to be a little higher than in the states but remember usually no sales tax. |
I highly recommend the Glacier Brewhouse. I just got back from Alaska 3 days ago and we ate their twice. Very relaxed atmosphere. The ribs were excellent!! We were dreaming about them and couldn't wait to get back to Anchorage (4 days and 1,000 car miles later) to eat them again. The beer is also top notch, plus the bartenders and staff were really friendly and funny. As a whole actually, the people in Alaska ranked right up there with the people in Ireland for friendliness (that's a really good comparison in my book).

Seward- Ray's Waterfront
Anchorage-Moose's Tooth Pizza Girdwood- Double Musky, Bake Shop, Chair 5 Fairbanks- Pump House, best bread |
Ketchikan: for lunch eat at one of the halibut places along Creek Street. Delicious fried fish and 'chips'. Annabelle's was wonderful!
Juneau - The Hangar at the wharf was very good. If you're a beer drinker, try an Alaskan Amber (or two)... At Denali - we went to the Dinner Theater at the resort. Hoakey, touristy and FUN, FUN, FUN! |
Anchorage: Moose's Tooth has great pizza and beer with the added benefit of being located on the highway to Seward.
Kenai: Ski-Mo's, good family dinner place with excellent fish and chips, burgers, onion rings. Several in our party became addicted to the peanut butter milkshakes. Soldotna: Buckets is a sports bar with huge servings. Hooligan's has a dinner show (2004) on Mondays and Thursdays featuring Hobo Jim. Your choice of halibut or chicken. |
