Alaska in 7 days
We a family of four planning our first trip to Alaska. We are mostly interested in sightseeing and spend time watching glaciers, wildlife and Denali national Park. No interest in fishing and other water activities. What would be the best way to see the glacier bay? Please help planning the visit. Thank you

The best way to see Glacier Bay is to take a cruise. You can see other glaciers on day cruises out of Whittier and Seward. You can walk on the Matanuska Glacier.
Are you planning a driving trip? Are you planning on travelling this summer?

Thank you for your reply. We are planning to go this summer, probably late July or early August. I was planning to take a cruise from Vancouver or Seattle to Seward and then take a car or train to Denali.

You have two threads going on the same topic, so you're going to get disjointed answers. I'll address your questions on the other thread, http://www.fodors.com/community/unit...o-seward.cfm?5

Stay 1 night in Anchorage. Rent car, drive to Denali. Stay 2 nights, spending the full day on bus seeing Denali. Drive back towards Anchorage - either making it 1 long day of driving and ending up on Kenai Peninsula, or staying in Anchorage and heading out in AM. Spend rest of time on Kenai Peninsula, taking full day boat tour for wildlife and glaciers. We spent entire time in Seward since it was suggested here not to try to drive around each day. Fly home.
