alaska cruise inside passage

Need help with selecting a small cruise ship that does not require one to dress to the nines for dinner and does not provide nightly entertainment. We are not anti social but hate all the hoopla that most people love about cruises.

Try the state ferry. http://www.dot.state.ak.us/amhs/index.html

The Alaska Marine Highway. You can run around in your underpants to the nines and be the entertainment. Have fun!

Great response LOL !! Anyway at the other end of spectum in costs, there is Cruise West, Lindblad, Clipper. As for nightly entertainment- simply don't go. To stay within a major line- very cheap compared to the above, NCL has free style dining and all ships have alternative dining. There is also room service. But frankly, I wouldn't choose an Alaskan cruise based on the eating arrangements. My priorities would be route, glacier, time in ports.

My husband and I sailed aboard the Yorktown Clipper on its twelve day repositioning cruise from Seattle to Juneau in May. We got a great price at a "fill the ship" rate. After spending the summer sailing in Alaskan waters, it will make its return trip south in early September. You can check them out at www.intrav.com We have taken two cruises with this company and I believe that they will meet all of your requirements.
