Alaska 3 days
Dear my newest friends.
i just buy a round trip from Los Angeles to Alaska and have just 3 days to spend in Alaska. My plan is to rent a car and drive to near denali in first day, sleep near park. in the second day spend in denali park, at night drive to Anchorage again e sleep in the route. in the last day (3) travel to seward or stay in anchorage. my flight leave AK around 11 p.m, i have 3 full day to plan my trip. Some suggestions? Many tnks |
Sounds like a lot of driving, but certainly can be done. Do take the park service bus as far as you can into Denali, go to the VC the day before to sign up, or go to www.nps.gov and put Denali in the search box to get to the site where you may be able to sign up ahead of time.
Have a great trip. |
Tnks, i read a lot of stuffs about denali in nps.gov
i´m going to buy bus ticket in reservedenali.com do you really think that i need to visit denali even buying tickets in the internet? i wanna visit Seward, but i think that i wont have time for that. |
I was in Alaska for 2 weeks in early August last year and visited Anchorage, Denali and Seward. When you're in Anchorage, definitely hike Flat Top. It's not that hard, it's pretty short and it's got some great views. In Denali, take an early bus out. I got the 8:30, but would have liked an earlier one. What we did was take it all the way out and made note of places we wanted to go back and hike. Then we bus-hopped back, getting off and hiking when we wanted to. We ran into trouble towards the end of the day because the buses started being completely full heading back towards the park entrance. We eventually got on one of the last ones but it was a close call and we walked about 4 miles along the road. If you can, get out early and head back midafternoonish. You can finish up with some nice hikes by the Visitor's Center. We climbed at least one trail there that had amazing views at the summit (5000ft). If you are going to do a day cruise in Seward, it's definitely worth it. Otherwise, the town isn't much and although the views from shore are nice, it's not worth the drive. Kenai Fjords was incredible, but I'm not sure how much you'd be able to get out of it without a boat. An alternative would be the explore Chugach State Park and drive the coastal park of the Seward Highway.

Hi,
I'm just going to endorse the idea of a round-trip to Seward on that 3rd day, with your flight leaving so late at night. Seward isn't THAT far away, and the path there is very nice both with hills and water views. I randomly chose Seward to visit as a day trip from a few nights spent in Anchorage, and while Anchorage was a city of 250,000 that played like a town of 50,000, the Seward decision was a great one! |
Many tnks.
1 day - Arrive at 2 a.m at airport rent a car and sleep in Anchorage, weak up take a look in the city and drive to Hostel near Denali. Some tips about Hostels and places to visit in Anchorage? 2 day - Full day in denali Park, just by Eielson Visitor Center m bus. Sleep in he route to Anchorage 3 day - Travel directly to Seward (Some tips about places to visit) . Drop off the car around 22 p.m , travel to Mexico and Brazil. |
I would pick one place, either Denali or Seward and Anchorage. Driving takes longer than expected.

I have to suggest that driving around Alaska is the way to get the full effect of it. There are awesome mountains and water views everywhere, and you just need to have reason to get out and drive in their midst.
