Aladdin Hotel Las Vegas

Any good or bad experiences at the Aladdin Hotel Las Vegas? How is the pool area, nice? Rooms? Service? Restaurants? Please help. I am considering their hotel for a family reunion. Other options are the Luxor and Paris Hotel.

I have heard that the rooms at the Aladdin are quite nice and very roomy. I have heard that the rooms at Paris are small, but nice. THis is all "hearsy" and have not witnessed it myself!

aladdin is a nice hotel. great location, center strip. good value. excellent buffet, nice mall area called "desert passage". Room service was excellent, and the bottles of stuff in the bathroom smelled so good i inquired and was given the name of the company that sells it to them. Paris is another good option, though the room value is not as high as aladdin. I'd forget Luxor as it really is on the complete end of the strip. WE were there in March and it was about 30 degrees, so I cant comment on the pool. But i've read that the pool at luxor is the best of the 3 hotels you mentioned. for a frank discussion of all the LV hotel choices, go to cheapovegas.com have fun!

You've listed 3 good hotels. Aladdin: pool - average. rooms - well above average. service - above average. restaurants - above average (top of the line buffet). Luxor has the best pool, Paris the best location. In my opinion, any of them are quality choices. For a family reunion, I would choose Luxor, then Aladdin then Paris. Only because I think the effort to assemble is easier at Luxor, and the pool area is superior to the others. Hope this helps-

Aladdin and Paris are both GREAT! And I actually really liked Alladin's pool area.

The rooms at the Aladdin are GREAT! Every bathroom has a seperate, deep soaking tub. It is w-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l after a long day of walking the strip. Ask for a room in the North Tower facing the Bellagio fountains.

Haven't stayed there but I have been inside it's nice. The rooms look nice online. Sad thing is that in a year or so this hotel will become a Planet Hollywood which I am sure will do SO MUCH BETTER than it currently is doing. Does anyone still go to Planet Hollywood?

aladdin is the poor man's belaggio. it's nice enough, and in a great location. luxor's location is lacking, being at the extreme south end. you make up for it at a place like Mandalay Bay, but not, IMHO, at Luxor. go to tripadvisor.com and check out some of the reviews of aladdin people have posted. I think it's a better value than Paris.

We stayed at the Aladdin earlier this month. Our room was very large and clean, bathroom was beautiful, pool area was large but nothing "fancy".

We do, however, have 2 complaints -- one, my friend had a Gameboy and 5 games (total value ~$250-300) stolen from in our room. The security people were of no help, they just asked us to fill out a report, and then I received a form letter in the mail saying that they were sorry it hadn't been found. Second issue was that they charged someone else's room service to our room (after we had checked out nonetheless). They have agreed to reverse that charge, but will not do anything about the items stolen from the room. It was definitely a wake-up call to not trust the hotel whatsoever! So, just watch out...use the safe and make sure you check your bill before checking out and check your credit card statement the next month to make sure they didn't charge your for anything after you check out!

Although I'm not going to Las Vegas until September, I looked at the Aladdin site. Current rates are $109 for my Wed. and Thurs. night and $159 for Friday. But they have a package which includes a round trip flight from LAX which totals for two people $489. Even though we only need to fly from LAX one way, as our flight home to Florida is already booked from Las Vegas, I doubt that I could get two one way tickets for less than $180 total with taxes. That means the room would be $103 a night for all three nights. Seems like a good deal, even if we never show up for our return flight to LAX.

We stayed at the Aladdin last month for our first trip to Vegas. It is a nice hotel, the rooms were large and the bathrooms were ridiculously large. It's in an excellent location on the strip and not that expensive. It's pretty much a "can't go wrong" kind of place.

"Can't go wrong kind of place" if you're a guest.
Unfortunately the same hasn't proven true for the owners of Aladdin.

The package price to Vegas from LAX is reasonable. If you want to save even more money, try booking a Southwest Vacation package. They usually offer incredible deals fro the Los Angeles area. They sometimes offer tickets for $29 one way out of LAX, they just need to be booked 21 days in advance. Have fun.

I stayed at Aladdin Thanksgiving week for the first time. the Desert Passage is a nice mall and the rooms were very nice. My only complaint was that the lighting in the bathrooms was the worse I have ever encountered on a trip away. We are not that old but for older folks this may be a concern. The buffet was good but not as great as other say. I have stayed at both the Luxor and Paris also. I preferred the Paris of all the three. As for room size and bathroom size it was great but do you really intend to stay in the room that much. Monte Carlo is also a very nice hotel but not as central. Hope this helps a bit.

Rooms were really nice, Dessert Passage is nice. I too have a complaint though. I left a denim jacket in the room (closet). It was a Hard Rock Cafe jacket that I was unable to replace. Anyway, I called the hotel as soon as I got home and realized I had left it there. They said it wasn't there and then had me call security to report it. I then got a letter saying they weren't responsible for it. I didn't hold them responsible, but I found the letter very insulting. My guess is the maid probably found the jacket was her size.

The Aladdin and the Paris are pretty much in the same central strip location. I loved the Paris room and the Casino area. I thought the Aladdin's casino area wasn't as nice, but they have a great buffet and the Desert Passage Mall is a bonus. However, you could just walk over from the Paris with no problem if you really wanted to. I can't say how the regular rooms are because we were upgraded to a suite since they were overbooked. I was glad to be upgraded, but I had to wait several hours with my elderly mother since the room wasn't ready and they kept telling us it would just be another hour or maybe just one more. That was really frustrating, but I have to say the suite was worth the wait. We had an awesome panoramic view and the bathroom was amazing with a huge tub and a sliding wall. In terms of cost and convenience, the Aladdin is probably the better deal. I just like the decor and ambience of the Paris better. The Luxor didn't impress me and it's really far down the strip. Then again, it's my boyfriend's favorite hotel/casino so it must have something going for it and it is cheaper.

One major peeve about the Aladdin is its ridiculous distance from parking garage to the hotel itself. You have to walk through the entire length of the Desert Passage shopping mall each time you want to get to your car. It's cute the first one or two times since you can browse by the shops, but after that it just becomes annoying. I avoid staying at Aladdin due to this factor alone.

Have you thought of using Valet parking?

Yes JWC, and it averages 15-20 minutes for them to get my car. I don't know about you, but as an able-bodied person, I absolutely refuse to wait that long, often in the extreme heat of summer, and then have the attendant flap his hand out expecting a tip. The valet criticism doesn't extend to the Aladdin itself, but I far prefer to park my own car. And in LV, there are so many hotel properties to choose from that allow me to do so with ease, without the parking games that Aladdin makes you play.
