Aladdin hotel in LV-Construction
 

I heard that the Aladdin hotel is under construction. Does anyone know when the construction is suppose to be completed? I was thinking about staying there in July but dont want the noise of the construction.

Hi--I really don't mean to be flippant, but call the hotel's 800# and ask your question as bluntly as possible. No hotel wants unhappy guests.

This question has been asked before and there have been varying answers. With all due respect for socialworker's suggestion, we did that call and were told that the construction (this past August) would not affect us. I guess it didn't unless you want to consider the fact that the entrances were closed from the parking garage and you had to bypass through some long plywood lined temporary hallways, the casino was more than half missing as they were in the process of closing most of it down, and several of the restaurants were closed. We also had to keep our draperies closed as they were painting the outside of our building and going up and down by our windows. Maybe they don't want unhappy guests, but don't expect them to admit that any construction will bother you in any way.

Meanwhile I can't believe the construction won't be done by July. They've had enough time to tear down the whole complex and build it over.

Interesting, Patrick....when a similar event happened to us, only w/no warning, ie we got there and found there to be construction, the Luxor (way back in '96) immediately offered us a *very hefty* discount when I said, "Gee the person who took my reservation never mentioned construction. We would have booked somewhere else, had we known that."

Needless to say, this was back in the days when I did not book online. That is part of the reason I suggested jiffer call, so as to have a human being to quote. I forgot to mention that he/she should get person's name. It always helps to also ask for the reservations manager and to explain that one only wants to book if one can be assured that construction will be completed. This way there is an avenue for recourse if necessary. Or, he/she could, of course, just go to a different hotel.

We were. We only paid $79 a night. The reason I called was it was called "a construction rate" or something like that. Yet when I called they insisted it would make no difference. Duh. I should have known. But to be honest, it really wasn't any great inconvenience. We wouldn't have eaten at the buffet anyway, and we didn't have a car, so only went through that construction corridor once.
