I am sorry Alan but with 5 hours between flights don't even try. You never know how long you will stay in line to get your tickets and then you will watch a movie, then you will get to the monument. Like Natco said this is a full activity. Well, at least half a day.
It is not far away from the airport, maybe 10 minutes by taxi, but do not risk being late for your connecting flight
If you are connecting with international flight you have to have a plenty of time.
How about this great museum in the airport in Honololu?

it can be done, but understand your limitations. I'd get a cab which should get you there in 20 minutes or less and then see what kind of wait it is. You can still wander around the museum and "see" the memorial in the distance for photos etc. but considering its popularity as a tourist destination, if you don't get there early chances are the wait will be too long. However, you could also see the USS Missouri which is a great tour that requires little waiting and gets you closer to the Arizona for better photos and stuff. If the wait is too long you can always take the cab back and say you tried.

Alan, here is more regarding the museum in the airport. We really liked it and spent there two hours
Spacecraft on exhibit:
Apollo Mission Lunar Landing Display
Landsat Model
Landsat Image/Weather Display
Space Shuttle (Cockpit Mockup)
Space Station Mir/Buran Model
Other exhibits
The Pacific Aerospace Museum has a variety of aerospace displays for the visitor to view. There are interactivemulti-media displays illustrating how a plane flies, where airlines fly from Hawaii, and how one designs aircraft. There is also a first flight simulator where a flight instructor guides you through your first flight lesson in a single engine propeller aircraft over Honolulu International Airport. If you have 15 minutes you can also partake a multi-media show/gallery which illustrates the history of aviation in the Hawaiian Islands from the polynesian voyagers to the attack on Pearl Harbor. The attack is demonstrated by means of a computer display and model combination which teaches one exactly how the harbor was attacked. This museum is a great place to spend time waiting before you have to board a flight leaving the island of Oahu.

The lines at the Arizona Memorial vary day by day. I have been there several times and have waited as little as 20 minutes and as long as 2 hours to get on a tour. If your plane comes in on time and you're at the Arizona 20 minutes later, you may very well have time to see it. If it's important to you (and it IS absolutely incredible), I suggest you give it a try. What do you have to lose?

I haven't been to the Arizona Memorial since the terrorist attacks in Sept. 2001. I have heard that no purses, or backpacks or anything else are allowed to be carried in. And no lockers. I can't imagine someone who's flying doesn't have some sort of carry-on. what can you do with it?
