ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE DAYS INN CANAL STREET

I BOOKED TWO NIGHTS AT THE DAYS INN CANAL STREET/ HISTORIC DISTRICT AT 1630 CANAL STREET, NEW ORLEANS, LA 70112.

DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS DAYS INN? IS THE LOCATION SAFE AND CONVENIENT.

THE PRICE WAS GOOD -- $49.95 A NIGHT.

I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY INFO.

It is awful, which is why it's $49 a night. Bad location and nasty dirty hotel.

Try again!

Brian is right. It's not in a safe location and has a reputation of being dirty, too. Don't stay there!

Cheap hotels in black cities always mean trouble.

I agree with the other replies...it is on Canal near Claiborne...definitely NOT a desirable neighborhood at all. Although I haven't been in the hotel itself, it doesn't look good from the outside and I've heard terrible things about it!

Try some of the chain hotels in the Central Business District such as Sleep Inn or Comfort Inn or Hampton Inn.

Black city? Dan, what do you mean? Last time I was in NOLA, every color and nationality was well represented. Are you saying that because it is in the South?

Curious.

There's actually a really nice La Quinta Inn in the CBD you might look into.
Days Inn -- bad, very bad.

There's too many nice reasonable hotels closer to the river to ever stay at the days inn !!!

Use turbotrip.com or Neworleansonline.com or any hotel search and you'll find some deals. The Days inn is right next to the I-10 and you have to walk past Rampart to get to it.

That hotel is in a very scary area! I would never consider staying there. While it is a good rate, you'd be better off looking for a low-priced B and B nearer the French Quarter.

Thanks for the info. I canceled my reservation.

I guess I will check in the Garden District and CBD. Some many places are already unavailable.
