Airlines deserves medal for honesty
This airline deserves a medal I think...talk about honesty! http://www.jetblue.com/about/ourcomp...ogy/index.html

I would fly jet blue, but unfortunately they don't fly out of Newark, and I hate to travel to JFK -- to inconvenient for me. ((b))

What a joke, 5hr ground delays, 5 hrs!?
How about when plane is ground delayed over 4 hours Captain and Co-Pilot get a swift kick in the rear end from all passengers. |
Jeblue does fly out of EWR, to 5 destinations in FL.
Talk is cheap. Let's see what happens during the next storm, and the one after that. But let's use this current one. B6 is only rebooking people flying to Richmond, Washington, Pittsburgh and Columbus for today, 2/25. And most of the northeast for tomorrow, 2/26, only. In contrast, Continental is letting people who're booked on 2/25 to 2/27 for most of the NE to rebook. So, already, CO is providing more latitude for customers to rebook. |
I am simply saying that most airlines would not bother issuing such an apology....and I find it refreshing. But I agree with the comment "Let's see what happens during the next storm, and the one after that.".

boombacca,
I agree. 5 hours is way to long to sit on the tarmac before being brought back in. And don't forget, you probably sat on the plane for a half hour before pulling out. If they had said 2 hours, that would be another thing. Keith |
Kudos to them.

This type of unbearable delay is happening more and more with other airlines, too. JetBlue just got the most publicity.
These days the airlines are scheduling fewer and fewer flights, and all the flights are near-full to capacity. So what happens when a flight gets cancelled? How can they put you on "the next available flight" if all of those are full up for days? We call it a glitch in the system, and it's one of many. |
There's discussion now in D.C. about a Bill of Rights for Passengers. I think the airlines owe their customers at least a minimal level of comfort, for pete's sake. Being stuck on a plane without food and water for endless hours, PLUS the toilets backing up--?? Sounds unbelievably UNcomfortable.

Jet Blue is going out of their way to seem open and helpful after the recent fiasco at JFK that severely damaged their reputation. I can't really applaud them for that - they are just trying to salvage their reptuation.
I've never flown Jet Blue before (they don't fly directly from Portland to Newark or Philadelphia; JFK doesn't work). But after this point, I would fly them for sure, because I think this recent kick in the pants will force them to fix some long-ignored problems in their system. Jet Blue certainly couldn't be any worse than any of the majors (not counting Southwest). I'd probably fly Southwest over Jet Blue if given the choice; otherwise, I'd base it on convenience and price. |
boombacca, do you have any idea of how tightly controlled the airline industry is? Airline pilots put their careers on the line every six months, when they take their physicals and simulator training...why would they jeopardize their careers to meet your perceived needs? Is your employment subject to this kind of intense scrutiny?
Did they have some amenities that the pax did not? Why are you blaming them? |
