Nice to hear there's no charge at the phone company which employs you, bluestructure. They certainly don't all operate under the same fee structure. What part of the world does the company cover?
It doesn't seem logical to allow a person to select area codes, unless it was for cellular service. For a business or a residence, an area code is exactly that : specific to the geographic area. The prefixes are sold to the service providers in blocks, and they are somewhat limited in what they can offer.
