airline seat specifications
Is there a web site or other resource that gives airline seat specifications in coach (pitch et al) for various airlines? (This would be easier to reserach than having to contact airlines individually.)
Somewhere I read that AA is now downsizing its seats on some flights. Being tall, my husband & I are concerned about seat sizes. On a United trip that was 1/2 full, we were able to move to the forward part of coach - but on the return, we were in the back and absolutely miserable because of the smaller seat space. |
If you go to google and type in airline seat pitch, you'll get a number of links dealing with that issue.

Suzy,
Did your google search turn up www.seatguru.com ? This site has seat information for various US airlines . Of course, these days , there's so much rescheduling of flights / equipment that our carefully researched seat might not be available on the plane we actually end up on. b( |
Thanks much for your helpful replies!

American is downsizing seats on the Airbus A300 and the Boeing 757 but not on the Super 80, their "mainstay" aircraft for many domestic routes.

AA is supposed to be adding seats to the A300 and 757 aircraft. A300's are to be completed by December, 2003 and 757's by February, 2004. However, I suspect that it may not happen since Jetblue recently announced that they will be removing seats in their planes to increase legroom, and Jetblue is the main reason AAwas going to add seats to it A300 and 757 planes in order to compete wioth Jetblue's fares. Looks like Jetblue may have put a monkeywrench in AA's plans.
