Airfare to Hawaii from Chicago

I was looking for airfares from Chicago to Maui and they are coming up something like 800$ for Dec/Jan/Feb !!! Is that the best ??

Try ATA out of Midway. However when its cold here (I am in Chicago too) prices for warm weather destinations go up.

just out of curiosity I priced a flight from ATA from the end of Jan. to the 1st week of Feb. and it came to $669.00

Do keep in mind that ATA means 10 hours of flight time (with one-stop) in a narrow-bodied 757 with 3-3 seating. Meanwhile, you can be on a wide-bodied non-stop on UA/AA.

If you are flying at Christmas vacation, $700-800 is reasonable. If you can fly at an off-peak time of year, and not on a Sunday, you can do better. I think American has the only non-stop from Chicago, plus a little more legroom and a good FF miles program, so keep an eye on their fares. They generally run fare sales about 3 months in advance of slow times. I wouldn't wait later than mid-August to book Christmas fares. They don't go down, only up.

Agree rkkwan. ATA will pack you in. And that is a long flight! We flew them from Chi. to San Juan and it was no picnic but it was less money. Hope you are thin.

Thanks for all you responses !!! I guess I will just have to keep a watch on the fares and I really only have the option of
a non-stop flight since we will be travelling with our 2 sons who will be 1 & 3 years old in December.
