Airfare search

Which website do you think offers the best overall airfares? We are looking for flights to victoria . Thanks for your help and have a great holiday.

I don't think that there is a single website that offers the best overall airfares. If you're talking about Victoria, British Columbia, you may be better off flying into either Vancouver BC or even Seattle. Here's a website about getting to Victoria by various means:

I use various sites to research fares such as Expedia, Travelocity, etc. As for actually PURCHASING, it's almost always as cheaper or cheaper to go to the website of the carrier that you select. Going directly to the carrier removes a layer in the transaction that can muddy up accountability issues and there are often add-on fees with third party ticket issuing, too.

"as cheap or cheaper" even...

Especially if you want a direct flight, very few bargains.

www.kayak.com is new and really doing a good job - only search-and-display, you don't order from them

Here is a site that's a useful reference tool

http://www.itasoftware.com/

Click on the link “Looking For Airfares” on the right. You’ll have to create an account, no problem, I’ve had one for years.

You can not purchase tickets, but from the FAQ page

http://matrix.itasoftware.com/cvg/dispatch/help/faq

Our software searches the public fares published by the airlines very thoroughly, and then presents the answers to you in a form that's easy to read and easy to reorganize, so that you can easily compare the features that are most important to you

ITA is a good place to find the flight combinations that work well and may be cheap, but after checking the other sites, I always get as good a deal or better on the airlines own site.
