Airfare from SF to Kauai
I'm looking to fly from San Francisco or Oakland to Kauai in mid-October. Flights right now are a little over $500 round trip. That seems high since I flew to Kauai from NY for $550 in 2011, but I wanted to check in and see what you all think. I don't want to wait and lose a good deal but it seems kind of early to buy. Any thoughts on a good fare from SF to Kauai would be great. Thanks!

>>That seems high since I flew to Kauai from NY for $550 in 2011,<<
That was three years ago -- LOTS has changed in 3 years, not just airfares. I'd expect to pay $500-$600 depending on day of the week. |
Look here: www.itasoftware.com
you can select both SFO and OAK as your departure points for LIH Depending upon your return it may cost you more like $600m so you might want to think about pouncing on that "a little over $500" fare. |
Grab it if you can get your dates.
That fare sounds typical. We went non-stop Sacramento to Maui last fall and paid about $500 RT
Sounds about right to me. We are flying Sacramento to Maui non-stop in three weeks and we paid $600 per ticket. From the Bay area it is generally a bit less.
That sounds about right to me. That's what I pay Seattle to Oahu typically.
Gosh, that fare sounds good to me! We paid that years and years ago.
I think it sounds good too!!
I paid $406 from Reno to Hilo for a January, 2013, flight.....it was the lowest I'd ever seen (from Reno, even!!), had two layovers, but I snapped it up. I haven't seen anything under $600 since that fare. :(
Airfare is always a gamble....... |
air fares have sky rocketed. I would grab a $500 flight to Kauai in a heart beat.....
I saw one for $287.00 but you have to swim part of the way.
OAK to Hawaii would be cheaper than SFO. Are you looking at Sunday flights? Can you play with the dates a bit, like flying mid-week?
Allegiant flies twice a week from Stockton to Honolulu. The RT fare is around $445 pp. They only have flights scheduled up until August 10 right now.
You have to consider the issues when flying Allegiant; let alone the inner-island air costs and getting to Stockton! Not much of a bargain for someone who wants to depart Oakland or SFO.
Anything in the $500.00 range is great but if you're really want a deal, sign up for Alaska Airlines credit card and get the 2-for-1 tickets (which aren't exactly that). |
If the San Jose airport isn't too far out of your way, you might check flights from there as they can sometimes be a bit cheaper.
