Airfare from NYC to Alaska

What is a good price for airfare from NYC to Alaska in June? Have found flights on Alaska Airlines and Continental for $600. Is this reasonable? Thanks!

I assume you go to Anchorage. Last year flew Continental from Newark in June. Paid $565. Purchased tickets about 2 months before the trip. BTW, it was the only non-stop flight to Alaska (don't remember its number). This year I am going in June too. Started searching for flights. But there no more non-stops! I will wait to buy tickets, may be they will change the schedule.

I just booked from Newark to Alaska round trip in May, not even from the same locations, and was $ 573.00. Alaska Air & Continental.

What kind of flight- open jaw??? For a round trip Anchorage- I would attempt a booking with priceline. I pay about $500 from Syracuse. I too only book about 60 days or less before. Check several sites and also direct with the airlines. Have in the past taken advantage of Northwest's companion fare deals and with United- sometimes also fare sales. But yes- $600 is reasonable, be sure to also factor in your transfer costs if any.

I just booked r/t from NH, splurging with about $631 because there is only one stop with travel time under 10 hours. Added plus, our return flight leaves before 9PM. There were cheaper flights around $550 but they included a second stop in Denver and total air time 14+ hours. This is on USAir/United. Budget Queen, I didn't dare wait until only 60 days out. I'm not sure I understand open jaw. I've enjoyed your posts. This trip will be late June and I haven't planned the details yet except for staying in the Kenai area. This is our second trip.

Open jaw- would be if taking a one way cruise then the flight would be NH- Vancouver by air, sail to Alaska, fly home- Anchorage- NH. (looks like an open jaw :) ) I assume yours is round trip??? Your total time, is great!!! I have actually now like taking several flights- sometimes I just need to get out of the plane and walk around. :) Probably my trip in March will have 4 legs on the way home.

We had free airfare, but the flight we purchased for a non-stop on continental was around 435 last July. We booked the previous October.

Any idea why Continental no longer has its non-stop flight to Alaska from NYC ?
Thanks

Is it perhaps a seasonal route?

I asked them directly the same question. Not enough people from NYC/NJ area
