Airbnb and Santa Fe/Where to Stay

Has anyone used Airbnb or VRBO to rent a vacation spot in Santa Fe? If so, what was your experience and what property did you visit? Husband and I have finally chosen to visit Santa Fe for our vacation after some great advice on these forums. We would love to stay as close to downtown/plaza area as possible. I like the idea of a rental home/apartment more than a hotel.

Have you used Airbnb before? I do regularly, did in Santa Fe, too, but a room so don't have a particular suggestion for your purposes. But it's pretty straightforward, zoom in on the downtown area on the map, read the listings carefully and choose one you like the look of with a number of reviews and a 5 star rating. If you'll have a car make sure it comes with "private parking" and I think, if you stick to the top properties, you can't really go wrong.

MmePerdu, I have not ever used it before. This will be my first time. Usually, I use Orbitz or Expedia...something along those lines. I have found a couple of vacation rentals before on those sites, but no such luck with Santa Fe.

Have no fear, you're bound to find something great and likely a bargain. If you haven't signed up for an account yet, be sure to give yourself plenty of time to do it before you want to book.

Thank you for your help, Mme Perdu. I put in a booking request for Villas de Santa Fe. One bedroom condo for $590 for 5 nights. I think I've found my new favorite site! I'm very much looking forward to this trip.

AirBNB and VRBO are both great and you will likely have great luck with them. However, we rented a casita with this company when we went and it was wonderful. Well-located, cute, comfortable, and afforable:

My friend did all the communications with them but it went smoothly.

Several years ago we rented through this company--

We had a three-bedroom condo at the El Corozon complex and we were very happy with the rental and the location, just a few blocks walk to the plaza.

Villas de Santa Fe is a bit of a walk from the Plaza, but it's doable. The last time we spent a night in Santa Fe (it's a day trip for us), we stayed in a nice condo at the Fort Marcy Hotel Suites. https://www.allseasonsresortlodging....y-hotel-suites

However, as others have said, there are plenty of good rentals closer to the Plaza area.
