Aiprort closest to Time Square

Hi,
I am coming to NYC next month. I am staying at a hotel in the Times Square area, and am wondering which airport is closest to this area. Should I fly into La Guardia, Kennedy, or Newark?

Thanks,

I believe LaGuardia is the closest.
I would come into Newark though. I have too many bad memories of La Guardia and traffic.

There's really not much difference between the 3. I would chose based on cost of flight and how you plan to travel into the city (if you're taking a cab Newark costs a lot more because it's a Jersey cab).

As far as traffic - it depends on when you're landing - traffic in from any of the 3 can be horrendous at times.

I always do LGA when I can but it's considerably closer to where I live. Newark tends to have fewer flight delays since it's generally less crowded than the other 2.

I used to HATE LGA, but after 9/11 it seems like they finally got their act together; delays are few.

If you're solo or even 2 people, and traveling relatively "light", I think the New York Airport Service bus would be the best way into town; after the airport it goes non-stop (other than traffic, of course) to Grand Central then PA Bus Terminal

JFK seems to be more long haul (cross country, another country) than EWR or LGA.

LGA is my favorite and agree with rb that LGA is 100 times better since September 11th.

Without a doubt, LGA.

Unless JFK or EWR are much cheaper, LGA is by far the closer and therefore best location.

If you want actual mileage - which doesn;t necessarily translate into either time or money - dpending on traffic and how you travel into the city:

LGA 10 miles
EWR 15 miles
JFK 16 miles

Thanks to all for your replies. I guess with everything else being equal I will fly into LGA. Newark is $10 cheaper, but it looks like I will spend much more then that $10 on a taxi.
Thanks again
