Ah! Hurricane season on the Gulf Coast
Cindy gave us season's greetings this morning. Flooding on the Mobile causeway, gusty winds so a tree hurt by Ivan came down in the yard, school/univ closings and people who don't want to come to work.
And Dennis following Ivan's path!!! |
Hi Fairhope, I have a friend who moved to Fairhope last year from NY. I'm sure he's happy...............
Also, have friends in the Dominican Republic on vacation this week. Can't image they are happy either........ |
The five-day path for Dennis has it headed straight for Pensacola. As if these poor people haven't suffered enough. Many houses have not yet been repaired from Ivan.
|
Fairhope,
I'm worried for all of you on the Gulf. Dennis sounds tough! Byrd |
Yes, it's awfully early in the season to have this many named storms already. I hope that those of you in the Gulf get a break, and I also hope that everyone else stays in the clear the rest of the season, including myself.
|
Nearly 300,000 people in the New Orleans area lost power from Cindy. and she was just a tropical storm!
|
I'm afraid my husband and I aren't going to make our yearly trip to New Orleans, but according to the news I've already been there and gone.
ccolor (or in real life, Cindy) |
.....and right before I will be at the beach....perfect timing, eh? I will be in Seaside, outside Destin, next weekend. That gives Dennis 10 days to move outta there! You think I'll be clear?
|
bamakelly, I sure hope the weather will have cleared by next weekend. We'll be down there too--after a 12 hour drive from the Midwest with 4 teenagers in the car! You better believe we are all crossing our fingers for sunny skies and good swimming.
