After Grand Canyon
Dear my friends... just thinking about where could i sleep after a entire day in grand canyon.
I will arrive around 9 a.m and my next city is Vegas but before drive i would like to relax 1 night between grand canyon and vegas. |
Williams is the town where you meet I-40 if you're going from South Rim to LV. Flagstaff is much more interesting, maybe 45 minutes east of Williams if you don't mind backtracking a bit.

Try to get a room inside the park--they book way in advance, but perhaps you can get lucky with a cancellation. That way, you can enjoy sunset and sunrise at the Grand Canyon before driving to Vegas.

I assume you are going to the South Rim? Tusayan is the closest accommodation to the park if you simply want a place to sleep before the drive to Las Vegas. We stayed at the Best Western a few years ago. It's fine. Nothing fancy although it does have a small bowling alley. We stayed inside the park last month. Nothing fancy there either, well, not at least where we stayed.

Try to stay in the park. Keep checking, several times a day for cancellations.

What´s the cheapest place to stay inside park? My first idea is to stay in Williams, go for dinner at night and depart around 6 a.m to Vegas.

Look at the parks reservation site:
http://www.xanterra.com/ Check several times a day for a cancellation. May not be the cheapest, but it's worth being at the canyon. You will be able to enjoy the sunset/sunrise. Maximize your time. Bright Angel Lodge will probably be cheapest. Also check the motels in Tusayan, right outside the gate. |
Tnks.
are there some good places to stop to take some photos between Willians and Vegas? tnks againnnn. Juliano. |
Focus on the rim of the Grand Canyon and try to stay as close as possible.
Not much as I recall between Williams and Vegass - except maybe the Valley of Fire - and when you get to Vegas - Red Rock Canyon is 20 minutes away. |
All times are GMT -8. The time now is 07:40 AM. |
