Affordable Hotel NYC w/ 2 bedrooms

I am looking for an affordable hotel in NYC with two bedrooms for a long weekend in November. I am flying in from LA and son and his girl friend are training in from Albany. Thanks.

Affordable is a relative term. The Best Western Hospitality Suites has a number of 2 bedroom suites, most with 1 bathroom. Murray Hill East Suites may also have some 2 bedroom suites. The www.affinia.com group of hotels has 2 bedroom suites in most of their hotels. But these 2 bedrooms can often be pricier than getting 2 separate hotel rooms, so I'd price that option as well. Bidding on Priceline for 2 rooms at the same hotel might be a better option depending on when in Nov.

Beacon hotel on upper west side.

I found the Salisbury to be affordable and in a fabulous location. Definately not upscale but clean and efficient. We had a huge suite with microwave, fridge, etc.

November is peak season.

A two bedroom will run you around $800 per night.

What about two hotel rooms on priceline?

W/o knowing what you consider "affordable" it is next to impossible to give you useful advice. How much do you want to spend??

Priceline often has litle inventory in November since it is busy season. I would search for what you can find now and reserve something that in cancellable - and usually 2 rooms will be cheaper than a 2 bedroom suite (which often includes a living room as well).

Then - start searching Priceline to see if you can get a better deal. Do not reco going any lower than 4* - since some that are rated as 3* are not that pleasant.

Just checked Affinia for random early November weekend and the best price they're showing for a 2 bedroom suite is over $800 per night with tax.

Are you looking for a 2-bedroom suite, or just two rooms in the same hotel (one for yourself and one for son and friend)?

macinpv Mar 14th, 2007 04:24 PM

Thanks for all the suggestions! I definitely will not be spending anywhere near $800.00 per night for a 2 bedroom suite. I will check prices for two rooms and also will try bidding on Priceline. Thanks!

Just so you're aware at that time of year a double room in a decent budget hotel will be at least $250 and probably more. And the sooner you get reservations the better - since, at least last year, prices for the same room rose the later you reserved.

We've stayed in two bedroom suites at both the Beacon (mentioned above) and the Kimberley on 50th between Park & Lex. Both should be way under $800.

FYI: NYC Marathon almost the busiest hotel weekend of the year) is Nov. 4, 2007.

Every other November weekend after that it's thanksgiving/christmas. Adjust your budget accordingly.

GoTravel Mar 14th, 2007 05:17 PM

crosscheck, check the dates. A standard room at The Kimberly the first weekend in November is $560 per night. How will a two bedroom be under $800?

crosscheck Mar 14th, 2007 05:59 PM

I still think it's worth a call to the Kimberly. Have had very good luck getting good rates by phone. Not fancy (decorated by someone's grandma), but feels like a real NY apt. Includes privileges at the NY Health & Raquet Club next to Saks.

we got a 2 bedroom room in regencyinnandsuitesnyc for less than 160 bucks a night in january. the hotel is old and nothing special, BUT great location 1 block to madison square garden and cheap. just make sure when you book you specify you need the 2 bedroom suite with 2 separate bedrooms and a living room. hope that helps

spongiebob Mar 18th, 2007 07:04 AM

you can even book 2 separate rooms for a great price. go to their website regencyinnandsuitesnyc.com sometimes they have coupons online too

spongiebob Mar 18th, 2007 07:05 AM

they have a coupon code "winter"tru march 26.

nytraveler Mar 18th, 2007 10:33 AM

Unfortunately January is the least expensive part of the year and Nov/Dec the most. Can;t comment on this Regency place - but on weekend dates in Nov rates for the basic rooms start at $269 plus tax.
