Affordable Hotel in New Jersey

Many moons ago I stayed at a nice hotel in either Hoboken or Union City, can't remember which one, but there was a bus right outside the door that went through the Lincoln tunnel and into NYC. It was a very convenient and affordable way of doing a weekend in the city. Unfortunately I can't remember where I stayed. Anyone know of any places in that area along the transit routes that travel regularly through the tunnel into the city?

Thanks!

Why not find an affordable place in the city and save time commuting?
Check out the La Quinta on W 32nd - www.lq.com

Or if it's just two of you try Priceline. Look at www.betterbidding.com to get an idea of what successful hotel bids were.

Thanks but the La Quinta is charging around $200 a night. Was hoping to pay considerably less than that and just hop on a bus across the tunnel.

See www.betterbidding.com and www.biddingfortravel.com and consider places such as Jersey City.

Check the rates in Queens - a 2 min walk to the subway and Times Square 15 minutes away. Read the reviews on TripAdvisor.

Check tripadvisor.com to see if you recognize the hotel you previously visited.

The hotel you may be thinking of is the Sheraton in Weehawken, NJ. There's a bus that runs along Boulevard East that goes into Manhattan. During the week, there's also a ferry service right out the front of the hotel. But prices there have gone up as they have everywhere. If you tell us where you're coming from (are you driving here?), the dates and what you'd like to pay, we can help you better. There are much nicer hotels now in Jersey City (the Hyatt, the Westin) and in Hoboken (the W) that are near a PATH train into Manhattan. But Long Island City in Queens also has a spate of new, modestly priced hotels that are 1 stop on the subway away from Manhattan. One of the best is the Country Inn & Suites Long Island City. The NJ hotels are better if you're flying into Newark while LIC is better for JFK or LGA.a
