Affordable extended stay in Boulder
 

My husband and I will be spending up to a month in Boulder. I won't know if we will need accommodations for the entire month or a lesser amount of time so I need the flexibility to leave early. Our budget is very tight and we would like to find a place that is more economical then the well known chains. We need a clean place in town with a kitchen and wifi. Any ideas?

Define affordable? It has no meaning by itself.

Look on VRBO? I would imagine that rentals in Boulder are at a premium with the college crowd there.

If during the summer, before school, lots of sublets available.

What month?

Sorry for the confusion. I am looking for a place starting in September. I have avoided VRBO and airbnb because our plans are uncertain. I need the flexibility to leave early due to a family situation. I would prefer not to incur a penalty or lose funds if I leave before 30 days.

"Affordable" is less then $100 per night.

That's a tall order. Boulder is expensive, and the students are back in September.

Try the cabins at Chautauqua Park. They might be an option, but could be more than $100/night.

Check the University website for recommendations.

Look in neighboring communities.

Some are as low as $125, though.

If you don't mind a small commute to Boulder then consider looking in Longmont or one of the other surrounding communities. Prices will be cheaper. Depending on where in Boulder you need to be, the commute could be only 10 minutes or so.

Your best (closest) bet is Louisville, 10 minutes away. Many chain motels there. There's a Hampton Inn and Suites that is about to open in Gunbarrel; might be good introductory rates there.
