advice on warm place to travel with a 9 month old baby in mid november:

my husband has a free ticket in Southwest to travel anywhere in US, that he should use before NOV 24th this year. I'm looking for advice on where to travel with a 10-month-old baby in mid November. We'd like to go some place warm, scenic, relaxing. Something on the water would be nice, since sightseeing may be difficult but prefer a baby friendly place. Its been a hectic few weeks with long work days, so looking foward to a relaxing family vacation. We were thinking about the west coast, but are open to any place warm and less than 4 hour journey as a big time zone difference can screw up my baby's schedule big time. Saying this from experience as we just got back from a trip to LONDON in September and wouldnt want deal again with long flight journey/time zone changes as it took me 3 weeks to bring her back to routine due to all the jet lag. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Btw we live in portland oregon if it helps to give suggestions!

How about one of the resorts in Phoenix or Tucson? I can't speak to baby-friendliness of any of them, but there have been some threads with recommendations for those that cater more to families. The weather is reliably excellent in November.

Phoenix is a good idea. We travelled there with our daughter when she was 12 months old. We stayed in Scottsdale and spent a lot of time at the pool, going out to eat, etc. I forget the name, but there is a cute park in Scottsdale with a playground and a train. Maybe someone else will know the name of it. It was a pretty relaxing trip.
