Advice on Savannah & charlotte

My freind and I want to go to Savanah or Charlotte for a long weekend. They both offer a rich historty I understand and beautiful plantation homes, etc..
We are flying in from the midwest. Any opinions what is easier to get to from airport?
What town offers more to do?
Know any good B&B's or Inns?
Thanks. I know I have a lot of questions.

You've been misinformed about Charlotte. No plantations, no rich history. You may be thinking of Charleston, South Carolina. Definitely visit there. Lots of info on this board if you do a search.

Go to Charleston. Although I really love Savannah, Charleston is a must for a first timer in the south. Better shopping, dining, history and accomodations. I have been to both many times. Save Savannah for another weekend because it is a must.

I also recommend Charleston. It is a wonderful city. I also recommend getting a AAA Guidebook if you are a AAA member as you can get discounts and freebies at certain places in Charleston.

Enjoy!
