Advice needed-Hollywood hotel

We have 3 nights booked at the Renaissance Hollywood, the first 2 nites are a package deal at $369, which include full breakfast 2 mornings & 2 tickets to Universal Studios, the 3rd night is at a rack rate of $169, w/o breakfast.
Anyone have advice on how to ask & negotiate for a better price on the 3rd night, reservations have already been made...thanks!

You should just use Priceline and get a good hotel at a lower rate for all three nights.

The Renaissance Hollywood is a very nice hotel which is very popular right now. You're getting a nice hotel in a central location, so I doubt you can get much of a deal with them.

Today I called the Renaissance Hollywood & spoke to the front desk & they said I had to speak to their in-house reservation about this, so they switched me to that, but they said they could not help me. So I called Marriott's 800 number reservation, I explained to the clerk that I thought I should get a better rate of $169 for the 3rd night, she said she'd speak to her supervisor & when she came back to me, she said we could have the 3 nights for a total of $420, plus breakfast & the Universal tickets! I was about dumbfounded & I asked her to send me this price for the 3 nights as a confirmation in the mail, she said she would. So my fingers are crossed that there won't be a big mix up at the hotel when we check in. I'm glad to hear that it's a nice hotel, hope it's worth the bit of extra money we are spending.

hey,
that's a good deal. I've stayed there, it's very nice. Upgrading to an executive suite would be even nicer, but of course more $$.
have fun!
ann

I'll see if we can get up enough nerve when we check in to ask for a free upgrade to the executive suites, they do look much larger, main concern now is that my reservation is confirmed at $420.
Ann, did you have the buffet breakfast at their Twist restaurant, how did you like it?

Susan,
When we stayed, we ordered breakfast in bed, so can't comment on the restaurant. Ask for an upgrade to the executive suite -- what's the worst they can do, say no?! Good luck, and have a great time :)!
ann
