Adventure Lodge
Here's what I am looking for:
1. Accessible hiking with minimal driving to trailhead.
2. Great food
3. High degree of comfort but not necessarily luxury
4. Privacy.
Two of my favorites are Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch in Stanley, Idaho and Lake O'Hara Lodge near Field, BC. What's your favorite?

mms, thank you for that suggestion. I just checked their website. You have a pretty good idea where my priorities are!
Thanks, Anne Marie, I will be in Park City in Sept and will visit Sundance (love their catalogue...so maybe there will be a little shopping this trip, too).

Hi cmcfong---I responded on your Lounge thread.
Two of the places I mentioned are in the same general areas as the recommendations here. (mms---I suggested Freestone Inn over Sun Mountain only because it is closer to the trailheads for hiking. Sun Mountain is a great place too).
And the place I suggested in Utah---Snowbird/Alta---is between Park City and Sundance, so you could check it out too!

Lucky duck. It's been a few years since we were there last but as I recall they have a fab store as well as a terrific "general" store that carries soaps, oils, etc., made from locally grown herbs, plants. Very thoughtful resort, imo, and it's the only place DH and I have been where we considered buying a place--it's so peaceful, private..all the things you mention. I hope you enjoy a great visit.
