advance on "Sly Fox" ??

I realize that "Sly Fox" doesn't open until April 1 but has anyone heard any advance word?

I will be in NY in May and just confirmed tix for Sat matinee on the 22nd. I saw the cast and WOW - how could this go wrong?

Thanks for any word of mouth info.

It has been playing in Boston and the only thing I know is that Richard Dreyfus said "it was a work in progress"....YIPES

Thanks ParrotMom.

I was unaware that it had been running in Boston. I did a search of reviews there and they weren't that bad. One said there was a lack of chemistry in the leads. Other reviews I read were pretty good. I'm feeling better about going to see it. Prof Irwin Corey is one of the supporting roles - didn't realize he was 91 years old!

Many moons ago Boston was THE pre-try out town...They would bring in the "play doctors" here.. We have seen many pre-Broadway plays in past years..Two in particular that were bad.. 20th Century with Tommy Tune...where he actually came out and apologized..lol. It won a Tony in NYC and Gingerbread lady where the audience stood in silence at the curtain.. also a bomb.. At the price of theatre tickets even for pre-broadway now we do alot of regional and off-Broadway instead.. We have seen so many smash plays that were pre-Broadway like Camelot(yes, I'm that old).. Yes, the cast is wonderful and I do read that the Professor has been seen around dining..and he's quite a character.. Remember he ran for President...

Once again, Parrotmom, you've brought a tear of nostalgia to my eye. Saw many a tryout in both Boston and New Haven in my youth. But, I must correct you on one point, the Tommy Tune show was My One and Only, not 20th Century. Otherwise, your memory is correct. The show was a real bomb in Boston, but the creative team did indeed work hard and turned the show around by the time it opened in NY.

We will be in NYC in April and have tix for Sly Fox on April 14th evening perf. Will let you know when we get back how we liked it. As you say, with that cast, can't go too wrong.
