Adult in Disneyland

Any tips for an adult visiting Disneyland? I was there as a kid during the first decade it was open. Now, it's a return visit for me and my sister.

Sue since you haven't been in a long time you should first visit this site: http://www.yesterland.com/ to find out what's changed since you were last there. It's a great trip down memory lane!!!

Sue,
I took my sister to Disneyland and we were both in our 40's at the time! We had a great day, did all the silly goofy things that go with a visit to Disneyland (just remember "It's a Small World" will stick in your mind for days afterward!) It was a lot of fun, I had been quite a few times over the years but it was her first visit to CA and hence Disneyland. Let me tell you we were exhausted when the day was over - be sure to wear comfortable shoes!

Be sure to eat at Blue Bayou, you need to make reservations when you get there. Use FastPass, it 'keeps your place in line' while you go on other rides, eat or just relax awhile. You get a ticket that has a return time on it, so at 9am you go to Space Mountain and get a FP that says you can return between 10am-11am and when you return you go into a different line, right to the front. It's very nice but not in use for all rides.

Have a great time!

Buy one of those mouse hats with your name on the back.

The Tower of Terror at MGM's and
the Rock and Rollercoaster. I could do it again and again...

Sorry, I read Disneyworld.

Do go to California Adventure next door. I believe you can get a two park pass. There isn't a whole lot there, but it is fun, and the restaurant run by Mondavi is a far, far cry from the old days of hot dogs and hamburgers only at Disneyland.

It's been a few years but my food not to be missed at Disneyland:

1 - Monte Cristos - I think you can get these at Blue Bayou and also at one Carnation restaurant on Main Street.

2- Beinets and mint juleps tucked behind the bridge in front of Pirates.

3 - Beef on a stick in Adventure Land. These are fabulous grilled with scallions (and actually called something different). There are chicken scewers too. I didn't discover this hut until adulthood. Yum!

4 - Pineapple sherbets in front of the Tiki Room.

5 - Milk chocolate honeycombs at most candy stores for the ride home.

Hope these places are still around. Alas, the molecule ride is no more but you will have a great time!

LOL--The molecule ride was my FAVE as a kid. So sad!

Make sure you go on Pirates of the Caribbean.

Growing up, the rumour was that people would either have sex or smoke pot on the Monsanto molecule ride. I never met anybody that did either.
