Activities 4-less anyone used them?

Looks like they have the best prices but I'm a little skeptical--don;t know if it's really a timeshare ploy. Anyone had experience with them?

What state are you referring to? If it's Hawaii, I'm interested too.

Travellyn,
Yes,it is Hawaii. I found them on the web and they seem to have the best prices for activities I've found. Cheaper than the individual companies websites and the AOA gold card or Entertainment book. I just want to make sure I won't get sucked into a timeshare presentation as you have to pick up the tickets at their office. Here's the website

I am fairly certain that you have to sit through a timeshare presentation to get those prices. I looked at them when I was planning, and when I called to book, they told me about the time share, I did not use them. Read their web site closely or simply call them and ask. (I could be wrong, but I don't think so).

we have booked several activities with them for an upcoming trip to Maui. i was assured that i would not have to deal with timeshare presentations or salespeople. we were also given the option of having our tickets faxed to our hotel, avoiding an office visit altogether.

Cindyrella,

We used Activities 4-less, for a tour of Hana. Got a 2 for 1 dinner coupon out of them for Hecock's, in Lahaina, which, if you get a window seat at the right time, gives you a perfect "free" view of the luau right outside. We booked our parasail through Boss Frog's and got a free afternoon snorkel trip. Any 2 for 1's will really help out. Two final points: be sure and check w/your hotel before booking. You may get much better prices overall if you use them. You can always say "No Thanks" :-D to the timeshare scare, and it was never a problem for us. They get paid to at least ask you. Lastly, don't be afraid to tell one activities place the prices of another and they just may lower their prices. Ours did! Aloha and Mahalo to you!!:-d

Wow, thanks BC. So let me clarify--you were asked to particpate in a timeshare presentation, declined and still got your activities at the same price? If so, I'm in! I'm just very wary of this scheme, got stuck once with a real high-pressure pitch for about 4 hours in Mexico.

The way the activity agents work is in my experience is. There are usually 2 prices for each activity , one low price if you do the time share presentation and another if you donot go to the time share presentation. So you need to ask them. Now if you go to a time share presentation there are usually more than one activity that they will give you the discount on.

As for my case i went on one due to 100% chance of rain all day on kauai and received 2 for 1 helicopter trip, and discounts on dinner cruise and whale cruise. Now i booked all my activities with one agent ( activities for less) and received the above discounts credited to my master card for Kauai and Maui activities. nick

Cindyrella,

I must have been mistating my experience. We never sat through a presentation, we declined even going to one, but got excellent prices using the techniques of: 1) comparing companies coupon prices, then, 2)challenging them to meet the other one's prices if we booked 1 or more through them. It worked with Activitites for Less, and when we picked up our tickets at their office in Lahaina, they tried to sell the timeshare deal, which we gratefully declined. They threw in the 2 for 1 dinner at Hecock's anyway! I alos found if you booked more than one through the same folks, they gave price breaks. You almost have to ask, however, which seemed kind of like car dealing!! They are selling a product and have a right to a profit, but the profit is already greatly exaggerated, so don't be afraid to leave your number and name and shop elsewhere! Good Luck.
